LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring outgoing Commander Marco Antonio Rojas,
SN for his distinguished service to the Oyster Bay Sail and Power Squa-
dron

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals and organizations of remarkable integ-
rity and character whose endeavors have enhanced the complexion of the
majestic Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their exem-
plary contributions and service on behalf of others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor outgoing
Commander Marco Antonio Rojas, SN for his distinguished service to the
Oyster Bay Sail and Power Squadron, to be celebrated at its Change of
Watch Ceremony on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Sagamore Yacht Club in
Oyster Bay, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Oyster Bay Sail and Power Squadron is a Unit of the
United States Power Squadrons; and
WHEREAS, Marco Antonio Rojas joined the Oyster Bay Sail and Power
Squadron on June 10, 2010, and immediately began on his quest to educate
himself in all areas of boating; in less than three years he completed
nine courses and thereby obtained the grade of Senior Navigator (SN);
and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the fraternal, friendship and family values that
the United States Power Squadrons represents, Marco Antonio Rojas has,
over the past two years, been personally committed to the Town of Oyster
Bay's Fall Community Beach Clean-up and Marine Education Day; and
WHEREAS, In addition, he not only supports the efforts of Squadron
members in Vessel Safety Examinations, but has also completed over 80
vessel safety checks on boats throughout the community, and is an active
participant in the Oyster Bay Cooperative Chart Program; and
WHEREAS, The Oyster Bay Sail and Power Squadron's long and sustained
commitment to the preservation and enhancement of private boating has
clearly advanced the spirit of united purpose and shared concern which
is the unalterable manifestation of our American manner; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Commander Marco Antonio Rojas'
distinguished record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of
this Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor outgoing Commander Marco Antonio Rojas, SN for his distinguished
service to the Oyster Bay Sail and Power Squadron; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marco Antonio Rojas.
