LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Councilwoman Rosemarie Bryden upon the
occasion of her retirement after 20 years of distinguished service to
the Town of Hamden, New York

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Councilwoman Rosemarie Bryden upon the occasion of her retirement after
20 years of dedicated service to the Town of Hamden, New York; and
WHEREAS, Elected to the board in November of 1993, Rosemarie Bryden
attended her first meeting in January of 1994, and has since served the
Town of Hamden with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Delancey for more than 50 years, Rosemarie
Bryden worked in various levels of public service; she served on the
board's planning and highway committees, and has seen major changes in
the town, including upgrades of water systems in the two hamlets and the
creation of sewer systems; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her successful career in public service, Rose-
marie Bryden also worked for 36 years as Secretary to the Principal for
the Delaware Academy Central School District in Delhi, New York; and
WHEREAS, For two decades, in her official acts, Councilwoman Rosemarie
Bryden was governed by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique
grasp of human problems; she attended her last meeting as a member of
the council on Friday, December 27, 2013; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout has been her son, Bill, who feels privi-
leged to be a part of her life and rejoices in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and in the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those civic-minded community members who dedicate their lives
and career to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Councilwoman Rosemarie Bryden upon the occasion of her retire-
ment after 20 years of distinguished service to the Town of Hamden, New
York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Councilwoman Rosemarie Bryden.
