LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Elijio Cruz upon the occasion of
receiving a 2014 Scholarship Award from the Major General Irene
Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Elijio Cruz upon the occasion of receiving a 2014 Scholarship Award from
the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.;
and
WHEREAS, A Senior at Newburgh Free Academy, Elijio Cruz excels both
academically and athletically; he is a member of the soccer and baseball
teams, and began studying karate at the age of five; and
WHEREAS, Elijio Cruz plans to major in Accounting at Pace University
to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA); and
WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Elijio Cruz has displayed
exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community responsi-
bility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled; and
WHEREAS, Elijio Cruz, in achieving this academic honor, may take just
pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excellence he
brings to his family, friends, community and school; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Elijio Cruz upon the occasion of receiving a 2014 Scholarship
Award from the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee
Airmen, Inc., and to extend to him best wishes for a future of purpose-
ful success and wellbeing; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Elijio Cruz.
