LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Thomas O'Connell upon the occasion of
receiving a 2014 Scholarship Award from the Major General Irene
Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Thomas O'Connell upon the occasion of receiving a 2014 Scholarship Award
from the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen,
Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Thomas O'Connell is the senior class Vice-President at
Newburgh Free Academy; he is a member of the National Honor Society, an
avid skier and snowboarder, Eagle Scout and a volunteer Firefighter for
the Cronomer Valley Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, With the goal of becoming a New York State Trooper and ulti-
mately an FBI Agent, Thomas O'Connell plans to attend the Rochester
Institute of Technology to major in Criminal Justice; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Thomas O'Connell has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and
WHEREAS, Thomas O'Connell, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excel-
lence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Thomas O'Connell upon the occasion of receiving a 2014 Scholar-
ship Award from the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuske-
gee Airmen, Inc., and to extend to him best wishes for a future of
purposeful success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Thomas O'Connell.
