LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Bhavana Patil upon the occasion of
receiving a 2014 Scholarship Award from the Major General Irene
Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Bhavana Patil upon the occasion of receiving a 2014 Scholarship Award
from the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen,
Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Second in her class at Newburgh Free Academy, Bhavana Patil
participated in a NetSci research project that was displayed at the 2013
International Conference on Network Science in Copenhagen, Denmark, and
was the subject of a HUFFINGTON POST article; and
WHEREAS, A leading singles player on Newburgh Free Academy's Tennis
Team, Bhavana Patil plans to major in neurology and minor in business to
become a pediatrician/neurologist; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Bhavana Patil has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and
WHEREAS, Bhavana Patil, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excel-
lence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Bhavana Patil upon the occasion of receiving a 2014 Scholarship
Award from the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee
Airmen, Inc., and to extend to her best wishes for a future of purpose-
ful success and wellbeing; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bhavana Patil.
