LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Junus Sela upon the occasion of
receiving a 2014 Scholarship Award from the Major General Irene
Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Junus Sela upon the occasion of receiving a 2014 Scholarship Award from
the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.;
and
WHEREAS, A senior at Beacon High School, Junus Sela is co-captain and
goalie of the school's soccer team, and has received the Scholar Athlete
Award for five consecutive years; he is a Cadet in the Beacon Police
Department, where he has worked with its Chief to develop the first
cadet program in the city; and
WHEREAS, Junus Sela plans to study a variety of specialties including,
business, economics, political science and history, with the goal of
utilizing them while serving in the military as an intelligence officer;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Junus Sela has displayed
exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community responsi-
bility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled; and
WHEREAS, Junus Sela, in achieving this academic honor, may take just
pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excellence he
brings to his family, friends, community and school; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Junus Sela upon the occasion of receiving a 2014 Scholarship
Award from the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee
Airmen, Inc., and to extend to him best wishes for a future of purpose-
ful success and wellbeing; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Junus Sela.
