LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Wildwood Programs upon the occasion of
its designation as recipient of the Jan Susan Medved Senior Dining Award
by The Colonie Senior Service Center

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to organizations of high purpose and worthy accomplishment whose
endeavors have a significant impact on the lives of others and the
community they serve; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Wildwood
Programs upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the Jan
Susan Medved Senior Dining Award by The Colonie Senior Service Center;
this momentous occasion was celebrated at the Colonie Senior Service
Center's Annual Founders' Awards Dinner, on Monday, October 21, 2013;
and
WHEREAS, The Colonie Senior Service Center (CSSC) is a non-profit,
community-based senior service organization serving seniors and their
families in Albany County, Schenectady County, Rensselaer County and
throughout the Capital Region, for the past 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Each year, at the Founders' Awards Dinner, The Colonie Senior
Service Center honors businesses and community leaders who reflect the
commitment, vision and leadership exemplified by its founders; and
WHEREAS, Created in 1967, Wildwood began as a program for a handful of
preschoolers, and has grown into an organization that provides compre-
hensive supports and services to well over 1,000 people and their fami-
lies every year; and
WHEREAS, Working collaboratively with individuals, families and the
community, Wildwood Programs empowers and enables children and adults
with neurologically based learning disabilities, autism and other devel-
opmental disorders to live independent, productive and fulfilling lives;
and
WHEREAS, Steadfast supporters of Colonie Senior Centers Senior Dining
Program, Wildwood Programs helps to provide nutritious hot meals to
Senior Citizens in the Capital Region, as well as afford them the oppor-
tunity to socialize and stay connected to their communities; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
recognize Wildwood Programs for its unwavering commitment to children
and adults with disabilities, as it provides an uncompromising standard
of excellence in the delivery of superlative service to the community
and individuals it so ably serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Wildwood Programs upon the occasion of its designation as recipi-
ent of the Jan Susan Medved Senior Dining Award by The Colonie Senior
Service Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Wildwood Programs.
