LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jeanne Pitkin upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Mary E. Brizzell Building A Senior
Community Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those illus-
trious individuals of the State of New York whose purposeful endeavors
serve to enhance the quality of life for the cherished senior citizens
in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in keeping with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Jeanne Pitkin upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Mary E. Brizzell Building A Senior Community Award by the Colonie
Senior Service Center at the Annual Founders' Awards Dinner on Monday,
October 21, 2013, in Colonie, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Colonie Senior Service Center is a nonprofit, community-
based senior service organization serving the needs of seniors and their
families in the Capital Region for over 30 years; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award is presented to Jeanne Pitkin in recog-
nition of her dedication to helping others through her extraordinary
volunteerism, friendship and support of the Colonie Senior Service
Center; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne Pitkin's contributions to her community include volun-
teering at the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, Hospice
Care, Bright Horizons Adult Day Service, and numerous other organiza-
tions all while raising a family, working, and serving on various boards
and committees; and
WHEREAS, Jeanne Pitkin is dedicated in her professional career to
helping others in her role as Associate for Pastoral Care at Saint Pius
X Catholic Church; she has diligently worked for the past 22 years to
ensure that all parishioners, especially seniors, receive the help they
need; in addition, Jeanne Pitkin has connected innumerable people with
services including Senior Dining, Transportation, Home Maintenance, and
many others; and
WHEREAS, In so effectively carrying out her volunteer mission, Jeanne
Pitkin has demonstrated the value those who would devote their time and
energies to improving the lives of seniors; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Jeanne Pitkin upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Mary E. Brizzell Building A Senior Community Award; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jeanne Pitkin.
