LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Eric Paul upon the occasion of being
named New York District Kiwanis Clubs Governor
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of New
York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the community;
and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Eric Paul upon
the occasion of being named New York District Kiwanis Clubs Governor at
the 96th Annual District Convention held August 14-18, 2013, at the
Rochester Institute of Technology Inn and Convention Center; and
WHEREAS, Kiwanis International is active in over 80 countries; helping
communities through service projects and raising money for various
worthy causes; the all-volunteer organization's umbrella includes Kiwan-
is Clubs, K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, and Circle K, and Aktion Club
for developmentally disabled adults; and
WHEREAS, Eric Paul attained his law degree at the City University of
New York School of Law in 1990; since then he has worked at various
positions across the state including most recently as Legislative Advo-
cacy Director at the New York State Senate and Director of the Altamont
Program; and
WHEREAS, Prior to being elected to this illustrious position, Eric
Paul served ably as President of the Kiwanis Club of West Seneca, and
later as Lieutenant Governor for the Niagara Frontier-South Division;
and
WHEREAS, In accepting this post, Eric Paul is the first Western New
Yorker to hold the position of Governor in 16 years; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, Eric Paul brings a wealth of leadership ability to this
important job volunteering as Chief Executive Officer for the Kiwanis
family of organizations in New York State; his experience in government
and community outreach, as well as a firm grasp of volunteer management
will serve the organization well in its future endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Eric Paul has displayed throughout
his career; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Eric Paul upon the occasion of being named New York District
Kiwanis Clubs Governor; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Eric Paul.
