LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Corrine Robinson upon the occasion
of receiving the distinguished Girl Scout Silver Award, the most presti-
gious of Cadette Scouting honors

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in accord with its
long-standing traditions, to honor the youth of today, and leaders of
tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals and
values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Corrine Robinson, through her diligence and rigorous efforts,
has achieved Cadette Scouting's highest honor, the Girl Scout Silver
Award; her accomplishment will be celebrated at a Young Women of
Distinction special event in May 2014; and
WHEREAS, Corrine Robinson is a member of Girl Scouts of America Troop
40207, Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has cultivated in our nation's young people the
values of sisterhood, leadership, and the importance of working with
others, developing both mind and body, instilling pride, and encouraging
community service and success; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has expanded the horizons of millions of young
women over the decades through the outstanding programs that have made
it an American and international institution; and
WHEREAS, Corrine Robinson completed a Silver Award community service
project which she planned, developed and executed; and
WHEREAS, For her Silver project, this exemplary Girl Scout worked for
the benefit of the Yates County Humane Society; she, along with her
sister Scouts, held a special ziti dinner to raise funds and other
resources for the dogs and cats in the Humane Society's care; and
WHEREAS, The Silver Award is earned over a two-year period; this
achievement demonstrates Corrine Robinson's high character and commit-
ment, and is a harbinger of her future contributions to her community,
the State of New York, and our nation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Corrine Robinson upon the occasion of her desig-
nation as recipient of the Girl Scout Silver Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Corrine Robinson.
