LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Sid Ramotar upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of a President's Award by the Capital District
YMCA

WHEREAS, The State of New York take great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
and
WHEREAS, Sid Ramotar will be honored by the Capital District YMCA with
its President's Award during a dinner at the Albany Marriott on April
22, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Sid was selected for this prestigious honor by the Glenville
YMCA; and
WHEREAS, He served his country with honor in the United States Marine
Corps following his graduation from Brooklyn Technical High School; and
WHEREAS, Sid earned a degree in Business Management from New York
University; and
WHEREAS, He enjoyed successful tenures at the Schenectady Economic
Development Corporation and the 1st National Bank of Scotia before
becoming Vice President and Branch Manager of KeyBank in 2006; and
WHEREAS, Sid has also served his community as a Councilman for the
Town of Glenville since 2010; in this position, he has been instrumental
in planning the Town's "Oktoberfest" celebration, streamlining the
application process for new businesses, the creation and design of
"Veterans Initiative," the design of the Small Business Financing Semi-
nar, and the "Business Showcase"; and
WHEREAS, He has also contributed his time to many local organizations,
including the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation, Boys and
Girls Clubs of Schenectady, YMCA of Greater Glenville, Rotary Club of
Schenectady, Glenville Business Professional Association, Schenectady
Military Affairs Council, Marine Corps League, Small Business Economic
Development Committee, and the Chamber of Schenectady County; and
WHEREAS, Sid has exhibited the true spirit of this prestigious award
through his tireless dedication and valuable contributions to the commu-
nity; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sid Ramotar upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a
President's Award by the Capital District YMCA; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sid Ramotar.
