LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Tri-Valley FFA upon the occasion
of being designated recipient of the Chapter of the Year Award at the
New York State FFA Convention
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and leaders
of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals
and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Tri-Valley FFA upon the occasion of being designated recipient of
the Chapter of the Year Award at the New York State FFA Convention; and
WHEREAS, The Tri-Valley FFA brought home this esteemed award in 2013,
becoming eligible to compete for major awards at the National level; and
WHEREAS, The agricultural industry is part of the foundation upon
which our distinct American heritage is built; and
WHEREAS, The National FFA is dedicated to making a positive difference
in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier lead-
ership, personal growth and career success through agricultural educa-
tion to 579,678 student members in grades seven to twelve, who belong to
one of 7,570 local FFA chapters throughout the United States, Puerto
Rico and the Virgin Islands; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1951, by educator, Robert Strangeway, the Tri-Val-
ley FFA is one of the most esteemed chapters of the FFA in the State of
New York and has annually garnered its share of honors; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Tri-Valley FFA program have gained know-
ledge in a large variety of skills including floral design, environ-
mental science, agribusiness & marketing, domestic animal science, and
many more; they will compete in a variety of fields to bring home the
top prizes at the National Convention; and
WHEREAS, Advisors Tara Berescik and Robert Hayes have done a superb
job in guiding, molding and inspiring the team members toward their
goals; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding team of young adults are a credit to their
families, their schools, their community, their State and their Nation,
and no doubt their future will be filled with accomplishments of equal
importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate Tri-Valley FFA upon the occasion of being designated recip-
ient of the Chapter of the Year Award at the New York State FFA Conven-
tion; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tri-Valley FFA.
