LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Esther Frank Doyle upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the first-ever Young Artist Visual Arts
Scholarship by the Arts Council for Wyoming County and Creekside Fabrics
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor and pay trib-
ute to artistic individuals whose commitment and creative talents have
contributed to the entertainment and cultural enrichment of the citizens
of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, The arts, in whatever form depicted, are central to human
expression; they are truly a universal language and their contribution
to the development of friendship and understanding among all peoples
cannot be underestimated; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Esther Frank Doyle upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the first-ever Young Artist Visual Arts Scholarship by the Arts Council
for Wyoming County and Creekside Fabrics in Arcade, New York, to be
celebrated at its Community Awards in the art gallery; and
WHEREAS, In 2013, Esther Frank Doyle was awarded "People's Choice" for
a piece of art work she entered in the Arts Council for Wyoming County
membership show; a rare feat for a young artist, the piece was purchased
by an out-of-town business executive; and
WHEREAS, Esther Frank Doyle of Gainesville, New York, will now receive
this illustrious scholarship due to the quality of her work and the
number of pieces of art she produces; and
WHEREAS, Upon receiving her scholarship, Esther Frank Doyle will spend
this next year serving apprenticeships with some of Wyoming County's
finest artists, exploring watercolor, oil paintings, pottery, and much
more; at the completion, Esther will produce her own exhibition to be
displayed in April of 2015 at the Arts Council for Wyoming County Art
Gallery; and
WHEREAS, The year-long process will give her ample time to work at an
artist's pace while juggling school, and teaching art classes at the
Honeycomb afterschool program at Perry Central School in Perry, New
York; and
WHEREAS, The scholarship will provide Esther Frank Doyle with a chance
to expand on her knowledge while building a portfolio and desirable
experience, which will help foster an ongoing arts community within
Wyoming County; and
WHEREAS, Supported by her parents' experience in the arts, Esther
Frank Doyle's mainstay is portraits; she creates both real and imaginary
images, inspired by the stories of the individuals behind them; and
WHEREAS, Recently, she has produced several charcoal pieces of art,
which she was introduced to at the New York State School of Media Arts
camp; and
WHEREAS, The Arts Council for Wyoming County continues to be a clear-
inghouse of opportunities for artists as well as an essential part of
the community by offering opportunities for the people of Wyoming County
to immerse themselves in art and culture; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body recognizes the importance of the visual
arts, which act to inspire, enlighten, and unify people from all
cultural backgrounds through the transcendent power of human expression;
and
WHEREAS, It is most fitting that we take time to celebrate the arts of
our Nation, to honor our artists, and to express our appreciation to
everyone who patronizes the arts; and as we celebrate the arts, we cele-
brate and give thanks to our American freedom, the only atmosphere in
which artists can truly create and in which art is truly the expression
of the soul; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Esther Frank Doyle upon the occasion of her designation as recipi-
ent of the first-ever Young Artist Visual Arts Scholarship by the Arts
Council for Wyoming County and Creekside Fabrics; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Esther Frank Doyle.
