LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Douglas P. Patti upon the occasion of
his retirement after 10 years of distinguished public service to the
Town of Attica
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who are devoted to the welfare of their community and its citizen-
ry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Douglas P. Patti upon the occasion of his retirement after 10 years of
distinguished public service to the Town of Attica; he officially
stepped down as Town Supervisor on December 31, 2013; and
WHEREAS, For the past 10 years, Douglas Patti rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Town of Attica, earning the
admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues and fellow citizens;
and
WHEREAS, As Town Supervisor, Douglas Patti was also a member of the
Wyoming County Board of Supervisors where he was Chairman of the Public
Works Committee, and served as a member of the Human Service, Public
Health, Public Safety, Agriculture, and Finance committees; and
WHEREAS, During his illustrious tenure as Town of Attica Supervisor,
Douglas Patti was part of many momentous changes and improvements in
Wyoming County government and infrastructure, yielding improved service
to residents and employees; and
WHEREAS, Highlights of these changes include: construction of a new
county jail and a new courthouse; renovation of the Government Center,
Department of Social Services building and hospital; development of
county-wide Human Resources, Maintenance, and Information Technology
departments; and implementation of the Better Pavement Program; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blend-
ing of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that demon-
strated by Douglas Patti over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication to
others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Douglas P. Patti upon the occasion of his retirement after 10
years of distinguished public service to the Town of Attica; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Douglas P. Patti.
