LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter upon the occasion of hosting its Inaugural NYC
Metro Area National Pan-Hellenic Council Alumni Step Show competition

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations within the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeav-
ors on behalf of the sorority and the population it serves; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter upon the occa-
sion of hosting its Inaugural NYC Metro Area National Pan-Hellenic Coun-
cil Alumni Step Show competition, on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the
Walt Whitman Auditorium of Brooklyn College; and
WHEREAS, NYC Metro's First Annual Alumni Step Show, Step. Stomp.
Stroll: Celebrating a Legacy of Service, will include displays of step-
ping from members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Vendor's
Market/Greek Trade Show, community step workshops, as well as world-
class entertainment, celebrity appearances, and an after-party; and
WHEREAS, Stepping has been adopted by the nine fraternities and soror-
ities that make up the National Pan-Hellenic Council as a means to cele-
brate the rich history of these groups and to showcase the pride of and
unity among its members; and
WHEREAS, Step. Stomp. Stroll. is an opportunity for the Delta Sigma
Theta Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter to revive this practice;
and
WHEREAS, In light of its commitment, dedication, and successful
efforts, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to extend its highest
commendation to the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn Alumnae
Chapter; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor and commend
the members of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn Alumnae
Chapter, past and present, who have labored so conscientiously to secure
and improve the quality of life for the community it serves; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter upon
the occasion of hosting its Inaugural NYC Metro Area National Pan-Hel-
lenic Council Alumni Step Show competition; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter.
