LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Cheney family upon the occasion of
Cheney Tire's 60th year in business
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the Cheney
family upon the occasion of Cheney Tire's 60th year in business; and
WHEREAS, The Cheney Family first opened Cheney Tire on Watertown's
State Street in 1954, offering automotive necessities such as tires and
gas as well as professional automotive service; and
WHEREAS, Since that time, Cheney Tire has grown significantly, expand-
ing its offerings for customers while still providing the people of the
North Country with professional automotive service they can depend upon;
and
WHEREAS, Over the past 60 years, the Cheney family has come to be
known for their passion for their business as well as their commitment
to their customers; and
WHEREAS, In addition to being known for top of the line customer
service, Cheney Tire has also earned a reputation for providing individ-
uals with employment experiences where they have an opportunity to work
alongside those who share their passion for serving others; and
WHEREAS, A cornerstone of the community, Cheney Tire is truly a North
Country institution whose years of exemplary customer service will
enable it to achieve further success in the years to come; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Cheney family upon the occasion of Cheney Tire's 60th year in
business; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Cheney family.
