LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Elizabeth Mullin-DiProsa upon the occa-
sion of her retirement after many years of distinguished service as
President and CEO of St. Ann's Community

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Elizabeth Mullin-DiProsa upon the occasion of her retirement after many
years of distinguished service as President and CEO of St. Ann's Commu-
nity; this momentous occasion will be commemorated with a retirement
celebration in her honor, to be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the
Rochester Riverside Convention Center; and
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Mullin-DiProsa, affectionately known as Betty, is a
registered nurse and healthcare executive with more than 35 years of
experience in providing and overseeing care and services for the elder-
ly; and
WHEREAS, For more than 17 years, Betty Mullin-DiProsa has served as
President and CEO of St. Ann's Community, a large senior housing and
long term care system in Rochester, New York; the organization serves
over 3,000 older adults annually, and employs a staff of approximately
1,200, including physicians and nurse practitioners; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure, Betty Mullin-DiProsa has been a positive
and transformative force in the St. Ann's Community; she was instru-
mental in the development of a new Transitional Care Unit within the
existing nursing home, which was later replicated and used as a proto-
type by many other senior health care providers; and
WHEREAS, In addition, it was her vision that led to the construction
of the satellite campus known as Cherry Ridge, located in Webster, New
York, which completed the continuum of care, broadened the geographic
footprint of St. Ann's Community, and helped maintain stability of resi-
dential rates; and
WHEREAS, Upon the completion of Cherry Ridge, Betty Mullin-DiProsa's
commitment and determination led to an even more ambitious program,
ultimately resulting in a major reconfiguration of the original St.
Ann's campus, expanding the capacity of its Transitional Care Program;
and
WHEREAS, With sincere care and dedication to the employees of St.
Ann's Community, Betty Mullin-DiProsa initiated a scholarship program to
assist Nursing staff members further their education; through this
effort, numerous employees have been afforded the opportunity to obtain
degrees and certifications; and
WHEREAS, Prior to her time with St. Ann's Community, Betty Mullin-Di-
Prosa operated a Medicare certified Home Health Agency and a Medicare
certified Hospice Agency, as well as a skilled nursing facility and a
geriatric medical practice with Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound
in Seattle, Washington; and
WHEREAS, Active within her community, Betty Mullin-DiProsa serves as
Secretary for the Senior Health Alliance of Greater Rochester, Trustee
of St. John Fisher College, Clinical Adjunct Faculty at the University
of Rochester School of Nursing, and is a member and past convener of
LeadingAge CEMO group; and
WHEREAS, As an industry leader, advocate and champion for Seniors,
Betty Mullin-DiProsa is a true role model; she has represented St. Ann's
Community and LeadingAge as a member of the House of Delegates and was

selected as a member of the Managed Medicaid Long Term Care Work Group
where she provided key leadership and insight; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Betty Mullin-DiProsa helped to make the Senior
Health Alliance of Greater Rochester, Inc. a group that improves the
quality of care and services for Seniors in the community; she also
exhibited outstanding leadership during the Annual Alzheimer's Walk; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Elizabeth Mullin-DiProsa upon the occasion of her retirement after
many years of distinguished service as President and CEO of St. Ann's
Community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Elizabeth Mullin-DiProsa.
