LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Minister Alida D. Glaude upon the occa-
sion of her designation for special recognition by the Ambassador for
Christ International Outreach Ministry and Gateway Christian Center on
Sunday, May 4, 2014

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Minister Alida
D. Glaude upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
by the Ambassador for Christ International Outreach Ministry and Gateway
Christian Center at its 4th Annual Pastors and Women of Distinction
Appreciation Awards Gala on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Floral Terrace,
Floral Park, New York; and
WHEREAS, Minister Alida D. Glaude is being recognized for her exem-
plary work and commitment to her community, which serves to empower
others; and
WHEREAS, Born August 15, 1957, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Minister
Alida D. Glaude started preaching when she was attending school; in
1982, she migrated to the United States and preached at children
crusades, youth meetings, women conferences, Sunday services and open
air meetings; and
WHEREAS, As President/Founder of the Haitian Children of Hope Elemen-
tary School in Janvier, Haiti, Minister Alida D. Glaude is dedicated to
reaching and changing lives within the community; she also established a
church, Eglise Baptiste de la Nouvelle Jerusalem, and the Elementary
Christian Academy, a faith base organization providing different
services for children kindergarten through 12th grade, such as after
school programs, educating young adults about religion, teenage pregnan-
cy, domestic violence, computer literacy, ESL, parenting tutoring,
domestic violence, parenting prevention seminars, vacation bible school,
community workshops, health awareness and mentoring programs, and food
pantry; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Clausius, and
their daughters, Myrtha Glaude, Aiumu, Lyliane and Claudia Glaude, all
of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her
achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that indi-
vidual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Minister Alida D. Glaude upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the Ambassador for Christ International Outreach
Ministry and Gateway Christian Center on Sunday, May 4, 2014, noting her
unremitting and compassionate faith and her exemplary service to God,
man, and her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Minister Alida D. Glaude.
