LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Denise Benardello-Frederick upon the
occasion of her designation as Deputy Grand Marshal of the Annual Bay
Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 23, 2014
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those distinguished citizens of the State of New York who
devote their lifework and civic endeavor in service to their community,
adding to the character and quality of life for all citizens; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Denise Benardello-Frederick upon the occasion of her designation as
Deputy Grand Marshal of the Annual Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade on
Sunday, March 23, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Bay Ridge, Denise Benardello-Frederick was
baptized in Our Lady of Perpetual Health; she earned her first Holy
Communion and was Confirmed in Our Lady of Angels, where she graduated
in 1978; and
WHEREAS, Continuing her education, Denise Benardello-Frederick gradu-
ated from Fort Hamilton High School in 1982; she began working at the
Bay Ridge HIP Center, and in 1985, became a volunteer for B.R.A.V.O.;
and
WHEREAS, During this time, Denise Benardello-Frederick discovered her
passion for helping the sick and she was inspired to attend St.
Vincent's School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1996; and
WHEREAS, Denise Benardello-Frederick is a Registered Nurse for Coram
Specialty Infusion, serving as a Clinical Territory Manager for Bay
Ridge and Staten Island; she is the proud mother of her beautiful daugh-
ter, Erin Anne; and
WHEREAS, Active within the community, Denise Benardello-Frederick is a
member of District 22's Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians; she has
worked tirelessly serving on both the Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade
and Our Lady of Angels Alumni Reunion Committees; and
WHEREAS, In addition, she volunteers for numerous fundraising organ-
izations including the Bay Ridge Memorial Day Parade, The Guild for
Exceptional Children, and Hurricane Sandy Relief; and
WHEREAS, Denise Benardello-Frederick is very proud of her Irish Herit-
age; her family came to America from County Kerry at the turn of the
20th Century; she is a fitting choice for Deputy Grand Marshal of the
Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade, for she embodies the spirit and the
cherished ideals and values of this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, St. Patrick's Day is a time for people of all nationalities
and generations to assemble and celebrate the rich culture and heritage
of the Irish people throughout these United States; and
WHEREAS, A St. Patrick's Day Parade reflects and records the ongoing
history of the United States and Ireland, and highlights the many
contributions and historical accomplishments of the Irish community in
this diverse land; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Denise Benardello-Frederick upon the occasion of her designation
as Deputy Grand Marshal of the Annual Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade
on March 23, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Denise Benardello-Frederick.
