LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Christopher Pappis upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of a William B. Joslin Outstanding Perform-
ance Award by New York State Industries for the Disabled

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
just tribute to those citizens who embody the true American spirit,
demonstrating personal courage and determination; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Christopher Pappis upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
a William B. Joslin Outstanding Performance Award by New York State
Industries for the Disabled; and
WHEREAS, The annual Joslin Awards Program of the New York State Indus-
tries for the Disabled (NYSID) respectfully acknowledges individuals in
New York communities who strengthen the Preferred Source Program through
jobs well done; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Pappis has served Image Data on the New York
State Office of the State Comptroller Review project with focus, confi-
dence and hard work; he is one of Image Data's document identification
keyers on the computer; and
WHEREAS, As one of the fastest keyers on the floor, Christopher Pappis
has taken on additional duties including helping cover the floor super-
visor when out, releasing work to other keyers on his shift, managing
the OCRs which feed 21 keying stations, and assisting in the training of
new keyers; and
WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of his duties and responsibil-
ities, Christopher Pappis' ongoing efforts and notable achievements have
significantly contributed to bettering the quality of life in his commu-
nity; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Pappis loves his job and takes great pride in his
abilities; his persistence and determination are a true inspiration, and
have earned him the admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues;
and
WHEREAS, Extremely generous with his time, Christopher Pappis volun-
teers at Albany Medical Center during the holidays delivering gifts to
children with cancer; he is also an active member of his church, St.
Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, where he serves as an altar server and
webmaster, and works the four-day Greek Festival each May; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Christopher Pappis volunteers for other church
websites across New York and Connecticut, as well as for the Hudson
Mohawk Valley Area Mathematics Conference; while attending the College
of Saint Rose, he assisted the Vice President of Student Affairs with
the development of the Smoking Policy for a Tobacco Free Initiative; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such enduring courage and accomplishment are brought to our
attention, it is appropriate to publicly proclaim and commend those
individuals for the edification and emulation of others; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Christopher Pappis upon the occasion of his designation as recipi-
ent of a William B. Joslin Outstanding Performance Award by New York
State Industries for the Disabled; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Christopher Pappis.
