LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Bridget Smith Bruhn upon the occasion of
her induction into the SUNY Ulster Alumni Hall of Fame on March 18, 2014

WHEREAS, Individuals who distinguish themselves in their profession and
in service to their community merit the highest commendation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its long-
standing tradition, this Legislative Body is justly proud to recognize
and commend Bridget Smith Bruhn, well-known and highly regarded for her
dedication and strong work ethic, upon the occasion of her induction
into the SUNY Ulster Alumni Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, Bridget Smith Bruhn, Class of 2001, will be recognized for
her outstanding personal and professional accomplishments in the areas
of education, business, and civic leadership, at the Alumni Hall of Fame
Induction Ceremony and Reception hosted by Ulster Community College
Foundation, Inc. to be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Ulster
Savings Bank Community Conference Center, on the Stone Ridge Campus of
SUNY Ulster, in Stone Ridge, New York; this event will be a part of the
college's yearlong 50th Anniversary celebration; and
WHEREAS, While attending SUNY Ulster, Bridget Smith Bruhn was a
student aide in the Admissions Office, Commissioner on the Campus Events
Planning Council, and a member of the Campus Safety Committee; and
WHEREAS, Upon graduating, Bridget Smith Bruhn continued her education
and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Management and Adminis-
tration, and a Master of Business Administration, both from Mount Saint
Mary College; and
WHEREAS, In 2001, Bridget Smith Bruhn began her illustrious banking
career with Bank of America; she is currently the Assistant Vice Presi-
dent and Branch Manager at Rhinebeck Bank in Kingston, New York; and
WHEREAS, Bridget Smith Bruhn has contributed her time and talents to
countless civic and charitable endeavors as a member of the Board of
Directors of Catherine Street Community Center, Gateway Industries Foun-
dation Board, Friends of Historic Kingston, and Junior League of King-
ston; and
WHEREAS, Her extensive list of accomplishments now includes induction
into the Alumni Hall of Fame of SUNY Ulster, the place where her higher
education began; and
WHEREAS, Many distinguished community members will gather at the
Induction Ceremony to honor Bridget Smith Bruhn's leadership, profes-
sional accomplishments, and passion for education; SUNY Ulster and the
communities it serves are appreciative of her outstanding efforts, just
as she is, in turn, grateful for the opportunities SUNY Ulster has
provided her; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bridget Smith Bruhn upon the occasion of her induction into the
SUNY Ulster Alumni Hall of Fame on March 18, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bridget Smith Bruhn.
