LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Pastor Lisa Trotman upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the Ambassador for Christ
International Outreach Ministry and Gateway Christian Center on Sunday,
May 4, 2014

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Pastor Lisa
Trotman upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the Ambassador For Christ International Outreach Ministry and Gateway
Christian Center at its 4th Annual Pastors and Women of Distinction
Appreciation Awards Gala on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Floral Terrace,
Floral Park, New York; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Lisa Trotman is being recognized for her exemplary
work and commitment to her community, which serves to empower others;
and
WHEREAS, Born in Jamaica, Queens, Pastor Lisa Trotman is an ordained
minister who received her teaching under the leadership of Apostle Mitc-
hell H. Hudson of Friendship Baptist Church in South Ozone Park, Queens;
and
WHEREAS, Pastor Lisa Trotman is the Chief Executive Officer of Sister-
hood of Destiny Inc., established in 2004 as a women's outreach ministry
designed to empower and motivate women to know their purpose in life and
accomplish their dreams; the organization has since touched the lives of
countless women throughout the tri-state area, as well as their families
and friends; and
WHEREAS, For the past 20 years Pastor Lisa Trotman has worked in
numerous ministerial and leadership capacities, and has brought many to
the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and the understanding of God's
word; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Lisa Trotman is the author of the book entitled,
SEASONS OF LIFE, INSPIRATIONAL POETRY which encourages all individuals
to persevere through hard times; understanding the importance of social
and civic issues, she is also a member of the National Council of Negro
Women Inc.; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Nyack College, Pastor Lisa Trotman holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, as well as a
Master's degree in Theology with a Concentration in Pastoral Care and
Counseling from St. John's University; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that indi-
vidual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Pastor Lisa Trotman upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the Ambassador For Christ International Outreach
Ministry and Gateway Christian Center on Sunday, May 4, 2014, noting her
unremitting and compassionate faith and her exemplary service to God,
man, and her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Pastor Lisa Trotman.
