LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Most Senior Apostle Dr. Joshua Edenabuo-
hien Ehimwenma Osemwegie Osasuyi, JP, MFR upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Ambassador for Christ Inter-
national Outreach Ministry and Gateway Christian Center on Sunday, May
4, 2014
WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Most Senior
Apostle Dr. Joshua Edenabuohien Ehimwenma Osemwegie Osasuyi, JP, MFR
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Ambassador For Christ International Outreach Ministry and Gateway Chris-
tian Center at its 4th Annual Pastors and Women of Distinction Appreci-
ation Awards Gala on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Floral Terrace, Floral
Park, New York; and
WHEREAS, Most Senior Apostle Dr. Joshua Osasuyi is being recognized
for his exemplary work and commitment to his community, which serves to
empower others; and
WHEREAS, Born in Eura on March 15, 1937, Most Senior Apostle Dr. Josh-
ua Osasuyi attended Agric College in Akure, Nigeria between 1958 and
1959; he also holds a Certificate and Diploma in Theology from Christ's
Disciples Seminary; and
WHEREAS, Before joining Christ's Chosen Church of God International in
1959, Most Senior Apostle Dr. Joshua Osasuyi spent nine years in the
Angelican Church of Erua; he has passed through the rank and file of the
pastoral ladder, and was promoted to the esteemed position of Most
Senior Apostle on September 1, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Most Senior Apostle Dr. Joshua Osasuyi is a Lieutenant Gener-
al in the International Chaplains Corps Inc. and an Official Member of
the United States Chaplains Association and International Association of
Christian Chaplains; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of his exemplary hard work and dedication,
Most Senior Apostle Dr. Joshua Osasuyi has been the recipient of count-
less awards and accolades some of which include Justice of the Peace,
Doctor of Divinity, and double honors of Excellence as a Patron of the
Edo State Chapter Gospel Singers as well as the Boy Scouts of Nigeria;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that indi-
vidual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Most Senior Apostle Dr. Joshua Edenabuohien Ehimwenma Osemwegie
Osasuyi, JP, MFR upon the occasion of his designation for special recog-
nition by the Ambassador For Christ International Outreach Ministry and
Gateway Christian Center on Sunday, May 4, 2014, noting his unremitting
and compassionate faith and his exemplary service to God, man, and his
community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Most Senior Apostle Dr. Joshua Edenabuohien Ehimwenma Osemwe-
gie Osasuyi, JP, MFR.
