LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Reverend Flore Maurice upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition by the Ambassador for Christ
International Outreach Ministry and Gateway Christian Center on Sunday,
May 4, 2014
WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Reverend Flore
Maurice upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the Ambassador For Christ International Outreach Ministry and Gateway
Christian Center at its 4th Annual Pastors and Women of Distinction
Appreciation Awards Gala on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Floral Terrace,
Floral Park, New York; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Flore Maurice is being recognized for her exemplary
work and commitment to her community, which serves to empower others;
and
WHEREAS, Pastor Flore Maurice was born on September 4, 1970 in Port-
au-Prince, Haiti; she earned an Associate of Science degree from Kings-
borough Community College and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from
SUNY College at Old Westbury; and
WHEREAS, Upon receiving her call to the ministry, Pastor Flore Maurice
embarked on a study and enrolled in Liberty University Christian College
where she is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral
Counseling; and
WHEREAS, Founder and visionary of Yahweh Ministry in Dix Hills, New
York, an international and interdenominational outreach ministry which
holds women's conferences, youth meetings, prophetic revivals and semi-
nars around the world, Pastor Flore Maurice became a licensed ordained
International Evangelist in 2002 at All Nations Church in Brooklyn; and
WHEREAS, After 16 years of working as a counselor, therapist and
educator of people from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds, Pastor
Flore Maurice took her work across the United States, and participated
in seminars throughout the Caribbean, West Indies and Canada; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Flore Maurice is a public servant who demonstrates her
love of God through annual revivals, as well as spreading health aware-
ness throughout the community to honor women from the Caribbean who are
leading the fight against HIV-AIDS, lupus, breast cancer, domestic
violence, and infant mortality; and
WHEREAS, A guest speaker in numerous national and international Chris-
tian Conventions, Pastor Flore Maurice and her message of hope and
restoration has touched and changed the lives of countless groups of
people from all walks of life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that indi-
vidual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Reverend Flore Maurice upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the Ambassador For Christ International Outreach
Ministry and Gateway Christian Center on Sunday, May 4, 2014, noting her
unremitting and compassionate faith and her exemplary service to God,
man, and her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Reverend Flore Maurice.
