LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs base-
ball team of Little Falls, New York, upon the occasion of its desig-
nation as recipient of the 2014 Promotion/Tourism Award by the Herkimer
County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the 2014 Promotion/Tourism Award by the Herkimer County
Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at
Francesca's in Ilion, New York; and
WHEREAS, A popular minor league baseball team whose home games are
played in the city of Little Falls, New York, the Mohawk Valley Diamond-
Dawgs are being recognized for their role in helping the Herkimer County
region become a more vibrant, attractive place to live; and
WHEREAS, The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs provide entertaining and
enjoyable experiences for people of all ages during their games at
Veterans Memorial Park; they also act as outstanding ambassadors for
Herkimer County when traveling on the road; and
WHEREAS, Travis Heiser, team owner since 2013, has been a part of the
Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs since 2006, including serving several years
as the team's general manager; he has been instrumental in helping build
relationships with the people and businesses of Little Falls; he and the
organization are committed to making the area a great place to live for
all; and
WHEREAS, In addition to the positive economic impact they have on
local businesses, the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs do much work off the
field providing baseball clinics for local youth and numerous other
benefits to the greater Little Falls community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs of Little Falls, New York, upon
the occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2014
Promotion/Tourism Award by the Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Travis Heiser, team owner of the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs.
