LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Evan Kujawski upon the occasion of
her induction into the 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame by the SS Seward
Institute
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those indi-
viduals whose exceptional athletic prowess leaves an enduring legacy in
their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Evan Kujawski upon the occasion of her induction into the 2013
Athletic Hall of Fame by the SS Seward Institute, which was celebrated
at a ceremony held at its Alumni and Veterans Fields during its Homecom-
ing on October 19, 2013, in Florida, New York; and
WHEREAS, An important figure in the history of the SS Seward Institute
Athletics Program, Evan Kujawski, Class of 1996, had an outstanding
athletic career with the Lady Seward Spartans; and
WHEREAS, A four-year starter in soccer, Evan Kujawski scored 39 goals
in her junior year; during her senior year, she was honored as a
Scholar/Athlete by the T-H RECORD, and was also a T-H RECORD First-Team
All-Star; and
WHEREAS, During her three-year illustrious high school varsity soft-
ball career, Evan Kujawski's outstanding success was favored both offen-
sively and defensively; during her senior year, she was awarded Most
Valuable Player for her stellar offense, and made the T-H RECORD First
Team; and
WHEREAS, Upon graduating, Evan Kujawski went on to play soccer at
Cornell University; after an injury in her junior year which abruptly
ended her athletic career, she began concentrating on her academics,
earning both a Bachelor of Arts degree, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts
degree, graduating in the top one percent of her class; and
WHEREAS, Today, Evan Kujawski has a degree in Pharmacy, and serves as
a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Stratton VA Medical Center in
Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, As a leader in her profession, Evan Kujawski has proven
herself to be a great asset to medicine and to the health and welfare of
the citizens in her community; in addition to her capacity at Stratton
VA Medical Center, she serves as an inpatient pharmacist at St. Mary's
Hospital in Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, In her spare time, Evan Kujawski has become an avid hiker,
and is on her way to climbing the 46 Adirondack High Peaks; and
WHEREAS, Athletes such as Evan Kujawski provide a tremendous service
to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of
student-athletes in their athletic journeys and ensuring their success
in their future years; and
WHEREAS, Evan Kujawski has clearly been an inspiration to the youth of
the SS Seward Institute, as well as to the community-at-large, and
accordingly merits recognition and applause for her impressive dedi-
cation to others; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our students
and our schools; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Evan Kujawski upon the occasion of her induction into the
2013 Athletic Hall of Fame by the SS Seward Institute; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Evan Kujawski.
