LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Frank Dagele upon the occasion of
his induction into the 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame by the SS Seward
Institute
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those indi-
viduals whose exceptional athletic prowess leaves an enduring legacy in
their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Frank Dagele upon the occasion of his induction into the 2013
Athletic Hall of Fame by the SS Seward Institute, which was celebrated
at a ceremony held at its Alumni and Veterans Fields during its Homecom-
ing on October 19, 2013, in Florida, New York; and
WHEREAS, An important figure in the history of the SS Seward Institute
Athletics Program, Frank Dagele, Class of 1977, was a three-sport
athlete who played two years of varsity soccer, three years of varsity
basketball, and three years of varsity baseball; and
WHEREAS, Frank Dagele was an outstanding goal keeper in soccer, and
also played offense, scoring goals and setting up his teammates; and
WHEREAS, A key contributor in baseball throughout his junior and
senior years, Frank Dagele's most well-known baseball memory occurred
during his sophomore year when he pitched a two-hit shutout against
Jeff-Youngsville High School to clinch the Section 9 Class D Champion-
ship; and
WHEREAS, During his illustrious high school basketball career, Frank
Dagele improved each year, averaging 23 points per game in his senior
year; that same year, he was named the Seward Basketball Most Valuable
Player, Seward Athlete of the Year, and made the Orange County League
All-Star Team; and
WHEREAS, From pitching star to farming czar, today, Frank Dagele's
exceptional athletic skills are put to good use as he and his brothers
own and operate the 550-acre Dagele Brothers Produce Farm; their custom-
ers include the Valley View Center in Goshen, New York, as well as other
companies which supply produce to several local schools; and
WHEREAS, Athletes such as Frank Dagele provide a tremendous service to
the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of student-
athletes in their athletic journeys and ensuring their success in their
future years; and
WHEREAS, Frank Dagele has clearly been an inspiration to the youth of
the SS Seward Institute, as well as to the community-at-large, and
accordingly merits recognition and applause for his impressive dedi-
cation to others; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our students
and our schools; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Frank Dagele upon the occasion of his induction into the
2013 Athletic Hall of Fame by the SS Seward Institute; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Frank Dagele.
