LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Laffey Fine Homes upon the occasion of
celebrating its 40th Anniversary on April 30, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those busi-
nesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves through
outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and enduring
commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Laffey Fine Homes upon the occasion of celebrating its 40th Anniversary
on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at the Paramount Theater in Huntington,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Laffey Fine Homes is a Real Estate Agency and a dominant
force in the Queens and Long Island, Nassau, and Suffolk County markets;
and
WHEREAS, With a distinguished history, Laffey Fine Homes operates as
an independent family-owned real estate agency throughout Long Island
and Queens, New York; the agency also has prominent global affiliations
and a full range of home buying and selling services; and
WHEREAS, In 1956, Thomas Laffey immigrated from Ireland to the United
States at the age of 17, settling on Long Island, and began investing in
real estate; in 1974, he established a residential real estate office
and a reputation for superior service, focusing in homes, apartments,
and condos for sale; and
WHEREAS, During the next decade Thomas Laffey opened 10 branch offices
across Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens Counties; the agency's tradition of
excellence continues today with a significant amount of annual sales,
over 2,000 closings annually, 500 real estate agents, and 15 offices;
and
WHEREAS, Currently, Laffey Fine Homes is a full-service Long Island

position; and

and

WHEREAS, For the last 40 years, Laffey Fine Homes' Long Island Real-
tors and corporate staff have offered professional expertise for buyers
and sellers alike; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Laffey Fine Homes upon the occasion of celebrating its 40th
Anniversary on April 30, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Laffey Fine Homes.
