LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Frank Hartmann posthumously upon the
occasion of his induction into the New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of
Fame on April 26, 2014
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those exemplary individuals within the Empire State who made
strong contributions to their communities and who inspired others
through their model citizenship and noble deeds; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Frank Hartmann posthumously upon the occasion of his induction into the
New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame, to be celebrated at its Annual
Banquet on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Rusty Rail Restaurant,
Canastota, New York; and
WHEREAS, The New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame is dedicated to
honoring sportsmen who have made significant achievements in outdoors-
related fields; inductees are recognized for their distinguished service
in preserving our outdoor heritage and helping others experience it; and
WHEREAS, The late Frank Hartmann of Sparrowbush, New York, was a long
time member of the New York State Conservation Council (NYSCC) and
served as its President and Legislative Vice President, receiving
NYSCC's Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Frank Hartmann was active in the Federation of
Sportsmen's Clubs of Sullivan County and honorably served 15 years as
its President; he was also active in many sportsmen's groups in south-
eastern New York and received numerous awards and accolades in recogni-
tion of his services; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Frank Hartmann stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Frank Hartmann displayed throughout
his life; and
WHEREAS, Frank Hartmann's life was a portrait of service, a legacy
which will long endure the passage of time, and will remain as a
comforting memory to all he served and befriended; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to reflect upon
those outstanding individuals who have made everlasting contributions on
behalf of their fellow man and have truly left their mark on this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Frank Hartmann posthumously upon the occasion of his induction
into the New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Frank Hartmann.
