LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Roslyn D. Goldmacher, Esq. upon the
occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2014 Leadership Award by
the Nassau County AHRC Foundation on June 6, 2014
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals within the Empire State who have made
strong contributions to their communities and who inspire others through
their model citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Roslyn D.
Goldmacher, Esq. upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2014 Leadership Award by the Nassau County AHRC Foundation, to be
celebrated at its 64th Annual Rose Ball on Friday, June 6, 2014, at
Crest Hollow Country Club, Woodbury, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Annual Rose Ball, held each year in June since 1950, is
AHRC Nassau's largest social function and is attended yearly by numerous
guests, including AHRC family members, as well as the Long Island corpo-
rate community and helps to support programs and services for children
and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to
reach their fullest potential; and
WHEREAS, Each year at its Rose Ball, AHRC Nassau proudly honors those
who help to support its mission and work diligently on behalf of its
worthy endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Roslyn D. Goldmacher is the President and Chief Executive
Officer of Long Island Development Corporation (LIDC), a non-profit
economic development organization which has served its community, making
low cost loans to small businesses and not-for-profits, for more than
three decades; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, under the luminous direction of Roslyn D. Gold-
macher, LIDC has operated over 16 economic development programs, lending
substantial support to small businesses and creating and retaining more
than 60,000 jobs for the local community; and
WHEREAS, A tireless advocate for creating employment opportunities for
people with developmental disabilities, Roslyn D. Goldmacher is a long-
time supporter of AHRC Nassau and currently serves as a member of the
AHRC Foundation Board of Directors and as a Trustee of its pooled
trusts; and
WHEREAS, Roslyn D. Goldmacher is the proud recipient of numerous
awards and accolades, and has served on several national boards for
organizations such as the National Service Corps of Retired Executives,
National Association of Developmental Companies, and as the National
Fiscal Agent for the US Small Business Administration; and
WHEREAS, In addition, she serves on the boards of the Long Island
Community Foundation, LIDC, and Long Island Small Business Assistance
Corporation; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Roslyn D. Goldmacher has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Roslyn D. Goldmacher, Esq. upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the 2014 Leadership Award by the Nassau County AHRC Founda-
tion; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Roslyn D. Goldmacher, Esq.
