LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Adam Liebowitz upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2014 Good Deed Award by the Village of
East Hills

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Adam
Liebowitz upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2014
Good Deed Award by the Village of East Hills, New York; this auspicious
occasion was celebrated at the Village's Board of Trustees Meeting on
Wednesday, February 26, 2014; and
WHEREAS, The Good Deed Award is the highest honor given each year, by
the Village of East Hills to one young student for outstanding charita-
ble contributions and service to the community; and
WHEREAS, Adam Liebowitz was presented with this prestigious award by
Mayor Michael Koblenz at a ceremony attended by the East Hill Board of
Trustees, Officers from the JCC, and teachers and administrators from
East Hill School, as well as many East Hill residents and family
members; and
WHEREAS, Adam Liebowitz, a fourth grade student at Harbor Hill School,
is being honored for his extraordinary charitable efforts on behalf of
the social services programs at the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center
(JCC) in East Hills; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed young man organized a highly successful toy
drive, which raised a significant sum of money to benefit less fortunate
adults and children throughout Long Island and Queens, New York; and
WHEREAS, At the age of nine years old, Adam Liebowitz is in his second
year of fundraising with the JCC's social services programs, and serves
as chair of the auction's Toy Drive Committee; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Adam Liebowitz has displayed at such
a young age; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Adam Liebowitz upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2014 Good Deed Award by the Village of East Hills; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Adam Liebowitz.
