LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kimberly Jerard upon the occasion of her
induction into the Bishop Maginn High School Hall of Fame as a Student-
Athlete on May 2, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
outstanding athletes who have distinguished themselves through their
exceptional performance, attaining unprecedented success and the highest
level of personal achievement; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Kimberly Jerard upon the occasion of her induction into the Bishop
Maginn High School Hall of Fame as a Student-Athlete, to be celebrated
at its Induction Dinner on Friday, May 2, 2014, at Shaker Ridge Country
Club, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, A 1991 graduate of Bishop Maginn High School, Kimberly Jerard
played Varsity Softball as a Junior and Senior, receiving the 110% Award
twice; she participated in Varsity Bowling in her Sophomore, Junior and
Senior seasons during which time she received the Coach's Award, Most
Valuable Player Award, and was the only female in The Big 10 to bowl on
a Boys Varsity Team; and
WHEREAS, Upon her graduation, Kimberly Jerard was the proud recipient
of the Student-Athlete Award, the Albany Joe Robilotto Bowling Scholar-
ship for the Capital District, and the New York State Bowling Youth
Leader of the Year Award and Scholarship; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, she held a career high bowling average of 209,
as well as a career high game of 300 and three-game triple of 812; she
also placed second in the Doubles Tournament in the NJCAA National
competition; and
WHEREAS, Kimberly Jerard holds a Bachelor's degree in Math Education
from Oneonta State, and a Master's degree from the University at Albany
in Education Theory and Practice; and
WHEREAS, A Math Teacher for 17 years, Kimberly Jerard has taught at
Shalmont, Bishop Maginn and Stillwater High Schools; during her time at
Bishop Maginn, she was the Varsity Bowling Coach and JV Softball Coach;
and
WHEREAS, Currently in her 15th year teaching at Stillwater High
School, Kimberly Jerard was voted Stillwater's Teacher of the Year twice
by the top students of the graduating class; in addition, she was
chosen, on two separate occasions, as one of the Capital Region Educa-
tors of the Year; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her fiance, Dave, and her two
daughters, Renee and Kristina, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kimberly Jerard upon the occasion of her induction into the Bishop
Maginn High School Hall of Fame as a Student-Athlete; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kimberly Jerard.
