LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending James Reardon upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Rotary Club of Rhinebeck's Paul Harris
Fellowship Award on May 12, 2014
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities of New York State are
reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those who distin-
guish themselves in their profession and in service to their community;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
James Reardon upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Rotary Club of Rhinebeck's Paul Harris Fellowship Award on May 12, 2014
to be celebrated at the Rhinecliff Hotel in Rhinecliff, New York; and
WHEREAS, Rotary International is dedicated to the development of
fellowship and understanding among business and professional leaders,
the promotion of community-betterment endeavors and of high standards in
business and professional practices, and the advancement of interna-
tional understanding, goodwill and peace; and
WHEREAS, Each year the Rotary Club of Rhinebeck proudly honors indi-
viduals who exemplify those principles; James Reardon truly merits such
recognition; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding representative of Dutchess County has
provided civil service to the Village of Rhinebeck through his service
on the village board for two years and his service as mayor for the past
two terms; during his four years of service to Rhinebeck, he has been
able to inspire political unity for the purpose of coming to an agree-
ment with the Dutchess County Fairgrounds and the construction of a new
Police Department; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that when indi-
viduals of noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention,
they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of the
great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend James Reardon upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Rotary Club of Rhinebeck's Paul Harris Fellowship Award on May
12, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitable engrossed, be tran-
smitted to James Reardon.
