LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Amanda Ward-Almonte upon the occasion of
her selection as a Young Professional Up and Comer in the Business
Community by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Amanda Ward-Almonte has given not only of her time and ener-
gies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Amanda Ward-Almonte upon the occasion of her selection as a Young
Professional Up and Comer in the Business Community by the SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, Amanda Ward-Almonte, Senior Director of Training and Work-
force Development at the Center for Discovery, was selected for this
esteemed recognition for being hardworking, ambitious, and creative; and
WHEREAS, Amanda Ward-Almonte began her illustrious career at the
Center for Discovery seven years ago; her vital duties include recrui-
ter, trainer; and workforce developer; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Amanda Ward-Almonte is an Adjunct Instructor at
SUNY Sullivan, where she teaches several courses in law; and
WHEREAS, Previously, Amanda Ward-Almonte worked as a journalist for
both SPORTS ILLUSTRATED and ESPN MAGAZINE, was a sports agent, as well
as a substitute teacher at Fallsburg Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Due to her entire community centered career, Amanda Ward-
Almonte's favorite part of her job is the people she serves; every day,
she is afforded the opportunity to work alongside the greatest talents
in the field, and serve individuals who have limitless abilities; she
also has an outstanding ability to make genuine connections with people
across all walks of life with varying cultural backgrounds; and
WHEREAS, The community oriented Amanda Ward-Almonte is a member of
numerous civic organizations including: Sullivan County NAACP, Girl
Scouts of America Heart of the Hudson Board of Directors, and the Sulli-
van County Economic Development Steering Committee; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her family, and her beloved
daughter, Gabriella, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her
life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Amanda Ward-Almonte upon the occasion of her selection as a Young
Professional Up and Comer in the Business Community by the SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and he it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Amanda Ward-Almonte.
