LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kim Porter upon the occasion of her
selection as a Young Professional Up and Comer in the Business Community
by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Kim Porter has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Kim
Porter upon the occasion of her selection as a Young Professional Up and
Comer in the Business Community by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, Kim Porter, Registered Nurse at Dr. Paul Salzberg's Family
Practice Office in Callicoon, New York, was selected for this esteemed
recognition for being hardworking, ambitious, and creative; and
WHEREAS, Kim Porter grew up in Callicoon, New York, and moved with her
husband to North Carolina, and then Tennessee when the company she
worked for relocated; eventually, she returned to the Callicoon area,
staying home for several years after her children were born; and
WHEREAS, After working for years in insurance and moving away from
Sullivan County, Kim Porter realized her love for helping people; and
WHEREAS, Originally studying business after high school, Kim Porter
went back to school to study nursing at SUNY Sullivan; in 2006, she
became a Registered Nurse; and
WHEREAS, Kim Porter's many duties and responsibilities at Dr. Paul
Salzberg's Family Practice Office include triage nursing, patient educa-
tion, administration of immunizations/injections, assisting doctors and
nurse practitioners with procedures, and reviewing of lab results; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her love of interacting with patients, Kim
Porter is Coordinator of Vaccine programs, does the inventory and order-
ing of all medical supplies, transcribes doctors' notes, takes EKGs, and
monitors compliance with federal regulations; and
WHEREAS, Today, Kim Porter is continuing her studies for a bachelor's
degree online; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout has been her husband, Neil, and their two
children, Taylor and Mackenzie, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kim Porter upon the occasion of her selection as a Young Profes-
sional Up and Comer in the Business Community by the SULLIVAN COUNTY
DEMOCRAT; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kim Porter.
