LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending S. Eric King and Kathy Thiel upon the
occasion of their designation as recipients of the Edwin Sperber Legacy
Award by the Northeast Kidney Foundation
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, J. Eric King and Kathy Thiel have given not only of their
time and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leader-
ship and consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend J. Eric King
and Kathy Thiel upon the occasion of their designation as recipients of
the Edwin Sperber Legacy Award by the Northeast Kidney Foundation; they
will be honored at the Foundation's 2014 Gift of Life Celebration on
Thursday, May 22, 2014, at the Hilton Albany, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Northeast Kidney Foundation is a voluntary health organ-
ization dedicated to preventing kidney disease and enhancing the lives
of all those affected; formed in 1974 as a philanthropic gift of Edwin
and Rhoda Sperber, the Foundation provides services to patients, family
members, the general public and clinical and academic professionals
throughout the Northeast; and
WHEREAS, The Edward Sperber Award is conferred upon individuals who,
through their philanthropic efforts, improve the quality of life in
their community; J. Eric King and Kathy Thiel are two such individuals;
and
WHEREAS, J. Eric King and Kathy Thiel have been called upon to
contribute their time and talents to countless civic and charitable
endeavors and have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, J. Eric King and Kathy Thiel have
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which J. Eric King and Kathy Thiel have
displayed throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend J. Eric King and Kathy Thiel upon the occasion of their desig-
nation as recipients of the Edwin Sperber Legacy Award; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to J. Eric King and Kathy Thiel.
