LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Riverhouse Restaurant of Pulaski,
New York, upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2014
Small Business Excellence Award by the United States Small Business
Administration and the New York Business Development Corporation
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
exceptional individuals and businesses which substantially contribute to
the economic vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the Riverhouse
Restaurant of Pulaski, New York, upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the 2014 Small Business Excellence Award by the United
States Small Business Administration and the New York Business Develop-
ment Corporation; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated at the
16th Annual Excellence Awards Luncheon at the Doubletree Hotel, in Syra-
cuse, New York, on Monday, May 5, 2014; and
WHEREAS, The Riverhouse Restaurant was nominated for this high honor
by Operation Oswego County; and
WHEREAS, The Small Business Excellence Awards recognizes the impor-
tance of small businesses to our economy, and celebrates local upstate
New York companies as part of National Small Business Week; the event is
hosted by the United States Small Business Administration and the New
York Business Development Corporation, along with area lenders and
economic development organizations; and
WHEREAS, Small businesses are selected for the Excellence Awards based
on their company's longevity, innovation, sales growth, increased
employment, ability to overcome adversity and community contributions;
and
WHEREAS, Established in 2007, the Riverhouse Restaurant is part of a
long and distinguished tradition of restaurants and hotels operating
along the Salmon River in Pulaski, going back to 1804; and
WHEREAS, Open year-round, this esteemed small business was founded by
owners, Frank and Mike Catanzarite, local entrepreneurs who wanted to
take a break from their careers and give back to the community; and
WHEREAS, The Restaurant's beautiful facilities pay tribute to the rich
history of the Pulaski area, while offering its patrons a comfortable
and enjoyable atmosphere in which to enjoy their dining experience; and
WHEREAS, Since its opening, the Riverhouse Restaurant has served both
as a source of jobs and as an anchor location around which other busi-
nesses have opened in town; in addition, it has added to the area's
reputation as a growing residential community and tourism destination;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
express its highest admiration for the Riverhouse Restaurant of Pulaski,
New York, and to wish it continued success in all future endeavors; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Riverhouse Restaurant of Pulaski, New York, upon the occasion
of its designation as recipient of the 2014 Small Business Excellence
Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Frank and Mike Catanzarite, owners of the Riverhouse Restau-
rant.
