LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring EnergyMark, LLC upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the 2014 Award of Excellence by the Amherst
Chamber of Commerce
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business organ-
izations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
EnergyMark, LLC upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the
2014 Award of Excellence by the Amherst Chamber of Commerce; this momen-
tous occasion will be celebrated at the Chamber's Annual Small Business
Awards Luncheon and Showcase, to be held on Friday, May 16, 2014, at
Samuel's Grande Manor, Williamsville, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Amherst Chamber of Commerce is one of the 10 largest
chambers in New York State due to its steadfast commitment to providing
services members need to grow their business and prosperity; each May,
the Chamber hosts a luncheon to honor seven outstanding small businesses
in Western New York for their vast contributions to the region; and
WHEREAS, EnergyMark is a Williamsville based supplier of natural gas
and electricity, to the residential, commercial, and industrial deregu-
lated energy markets of New York State and Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, EnergyMark was founded in 2002 by energy entrepreneurs Gary
Marchiori and Tim Wright who learned the fundamentals of the local ener-
gy market at National Fuel, and then for national companies, Texaco and
Constellation Energy; the team used this comprehensive knowledge to
position the company competitively within the local market for natural
gas supply services; and
WHEREAS, Originally a four person company specializing in natural gas
supply, EnergyMark has grown to include retail electric supply and
currently has 12 full-time employees, generating nearly $100 million in
annual revenue; and
WHEREAS, In addition, EnergyMark has expanded to 8,000 residential,
commercial and industrial customers in Western New York and Northwestern
Pennsylvania; their clients include 12 SUNY Colleges, the New York State
Office of General Services, Local U.S. Federal Facilitates, the Catholic
Health System, Coca Cola, Tops Markets, Ellicott Development, 60 local
school districts, the Town of Amherst, and the Buffalo Niagara Medical
Campus to name a few; and
WHEREAS, EnergyMark strengthens the local economy by saving businesses
money on their energy supply, allowing them to spend more money on the
aspects of the business which contribute to growth; they remain commit-
ted to servicing local energy needs, with local energy supplies, deliv-
ered by locally trained and educated employees; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, in an effort to give back to the community,
EnergyMark's local college intern program has mentored 25 local college
seniors and MBA students over the last four years; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to EnergyMark; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor EnergyMark, LLC upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the 2014 Award of Excellence by the Amherst Chamber of Commerce; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to EnergyMark, LLC, Williamsville, New York.
