LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION recognizing Barbados National Heroes Day which
was celebrated on April 27, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
just tribute to the cultural heritage of the ethnic groups which
comprise and contribute to the richness and diversity of the community
of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in keeping with its time-ho-
nored traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize
Barbados National Heroes Day, which was celebrated on Sunday, April 27,
2014, in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Barbados National Heroes Day honors outstanding Barbadians
for their roles in positively changing Barbados, and for their signif-
icant contributions to the betterment of their nation; and
WHEREAS, These exceptional men and women have laid the foundation for
the development of Barbados in its evolution into a vibrant island
nation; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when cultural
events of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
recognize Barbados National Heroes Day; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lennox O. Price, Consulate General of Barbados, New York.
