LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Darlene A. Jensen upon the occasion of
being named Carthage's Citizen of the Year

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Darlene A.
Jensen upon the occasion of being named Carthage's Citizen of the Year;
and
WHEREAS, An integral part of her community, Darlene A. Jensen has
served alongside her husband, Harry, as pastor at New Covenant Fellow-
ship Church for 13 years; and
WHEREAS, For the past two years, Darlene A. Jensen, has served as
Director of the Village Ecumenical Ministries food pantry; and
WHEREAS, Under her able leadership, services at the pantry for those
in need have significantly expanded; and
WHEREAS, Darlene's diligence and willingness to serve others have
benefitted the food pantry; subsequently, the hours have been extended
and grants have been obtained to purchase necessary equipment; and
WHEREAS, These two important measures have allowed the facility to
better serve an increasing number of patrons; and
WHEREAS, An individual who has truly gone above and beyond to serve
her community, Darlene A. Jensen has made a difference not only in the
Carthage community, but in the North Country region as a whole; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Darlene A. Jensen upon the occasion of being named Carthage's
Citizen of the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Darlene A. Jensen.
