LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Pamela Kissel upon the occasion of
her retirement as Superintendent of the Churchville-Chili Central School
District
WHEREAS, New York State's commitment to education is unparalleled; its
history and stature are secured by the superlative caliber of its educa-
tional professionals and the students they inspire; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of those outstanding
educational leaders whose dedication and achievements have been instru-
mental in developing character and academic excellence in the young
people of New York State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr.
Pamela Kissel upon the occasion of her retirement as Superintendent of
the Churchville-Chili Central School District after a 35-year career in
education; she will officially retire effective June 30, 2014; and
WHEREAS, A 1969 graduate of Churchville-Chili, Dr. Pamela Kissel began
her career as an educator as an English teacher in the Syracuse, New
York area, before transitioning to administration; she served as Assist-
ant Superintendent of Instruction for Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES in Spencer-
port; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Pamela Kissel joined the Churchville-Chili Central School
District as its Superintendent in 2007; and
WHEREAS, During her illustrious tenure with the Churchville-Chili
Central School District, Dr. Pamela Kissel earned the respect and admi-
ration of her colleagues, staff, and community for her demonstrated
commitment to student success; she was particularly focused on equity
and access for all students; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Pamela Kissel's skillful leadership as Superintendent
helped the Churchville-Chili Central School District successfully navi-
gate the Common Core Curriculum implementation process and the Annual
Professional Performance Review changes; she also oversaw multiple
successful school budgets and capital improvements; and
WHEREAS, Educators like Dr. Pamela Kissel provide a tremendous service
to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of young
people in their educational journeys and ensuring their success in their
future years; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Pamela Kissel has clearly had an enduring impact on the
youth of the Churchville-Chili Central School District, as well as the
community at large, and accordingly merits recognition and applause for
many impressive years of dedication to others; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support our proud tradition of
public education by providing their skills and talents to our schools;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Pamela Kissel upon the occasion of her retirement as Super-
intendent of the Churchville-Chili Central School District, and to wish
her continued success in her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Pamela Kissel.
