LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Janet R. Young upon the occasion of her
retirement after 32 years of distinguished service in the education
field

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Janet R. Young
upon the occasion of her retirement after 32 years of distinguished
service in the education field; and
WHEREAS, Janet R. Young began her career 32 years ago, teaching in the
Sackets Harbor Central and Norwood-Norfolk Central School Districts; and
WHEREAS, In 1993, Janet R. Young accepted a position with the Thousand
Islands Central School District as a special education teacher; and
WHEREAS, In 2012, Janet R. Young was appointed Cape Vincent Elementary
School Principal and today, serves as half-time Principal and half-time
Chairwoman of the Special Education Department for the elementary
school; and
WHEREAS, Because of her passion for teaching and dedication to her
students, Janet R. Young has come to be known as an exemplary principal,
hardworking educator and an intelligent individual with a compassion for
those whose futures she tries to help mold; and
WHEREAS, For more than three decades, Janet R. Young has put her
students first, working tirelessly to help them succeed and enjoy learn-
ing; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Janet R. Young upon the occasion of her retirement after 32 years
of dedicated service in the education field; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Janet R. Young.
