LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Lance Mandelbaum upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by North Shore Synagogue on June
7, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
efforts of those individuals within the State of New York who give of
their time and energies in support of spiritual endeavors which aim to
benefit the community at large; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Lance Mandelbaum upon the occasion of his designation for special recog-
nition by North Shore Synagogue; he will be honored at its Journal
Dinner Dance 2014, on Saturday, June 7, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Lance Mandelbaum is being recognized for his dedicated and
exemplary efforts as a member of the Merger Committee during the joining
of North Shore Synagogue of Syosset, New York, with Temple Beth Elohim,
of Old Bethpage, New York; and
WHEREAS, Lance Mandelbaum and his family were active members of Temple
Beth Elohim for 24 years, serving in many capacities; this distinguished
man was an officer and a trustee for nearly two decades; and
WHEREAS, Lance Mandelbaum is owner and CEO of True Type Printing, a
commercial printing company in Amityville, New York; passionately
engaged in civic affairs, he served as Vice Chairman of Planning Board
No. 6 in Forest Hills, New York, was an active participant on the Plain-
view-Old Bethpage School Board Advisory Committee, and was a former
official in the administration of New York City Mayor John V. Lindsay;
and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Ilene, and their
children, Steven (Robin) and Brian (Renee), as well as their grandson,
Evan, and granddaughter, Hudson, all of whom feel privileged to be a
part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout its rich historical past and up to the present
day, North Shore Synagogue has been sustained by the beneficent efforts
of countless congregants such as Lance Mandelbaum, who have generously
supported their temple with abundant kindness and good deeds; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Lance Mandelbaum upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by North Shore Synagogue, noting his unremitting
commitment, ceaseless devotion and spiritual resolve; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lance Mandelbaum.
