LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Molly McQuade upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Outstanding Student Award by the Capital
District YMCA on May 21, 2014
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Molly McQuade upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Outstanding Student Award by the Capital District YMCA to be celebrated
at the 2014 Albany Outstanding Students and Educators Breakfast on
Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at SUNY Albany; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Capital District YMCA, Albany Branch, conduct
an Annual Outstanding Student and Educator Awards program recognizing
those high school sophomores, juniors, seniors, and high school
educators/counselors who exhibit qualities of leadership, citizenship
and volunteerism in the community; Molly McQuade is one such individual;
and
WHEREAS, The program focuses on academic and school related achieve-
ments, as well as the kind and amount of community service these
students are engaged in; the students are then rated on those activities
that self-generated the highest; and
WHEREAS, Molly McQuade has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Molly McQuade has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Molly McQuade represents the best development of the potential which is
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to wish Molly McQuade continued success throughout her school years
and beyond; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Molly McQuade upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Outstanding Student Award by the Capital District YMCA on May 21,
2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Molly McQuade.
