LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jessica McCarey upon the occasion of her
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2014 OCIAA Scholar Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jessica McCar-
ey upon the occasion of her recognition by the Orange County Interscho-
lastic Athletic Association as a 2014 OCIAA Scholar Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Jessica McCarey has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Jessica McCarey, a student at Middletown High School, ranked
3rd in her class with a GPA of 97.70, and was on the soccer, basketball,
and softball teams; and
WHEREAS, She is the Vice President of the National Honor Society, and
a member of Senior Enrichment; she plans to attend Buffalo State and
major in Forensic Chemistry; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Jessica McCarey
has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Jessica McCarey may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Jessica McCarey represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jessica McCarey upon the occasion of her recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2014 OCIAA Scholar
Athlete, and to wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jessica McCarey.
