LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jamie A. Moesel upon the occasion of her
retirement after 10 years of distinguished service as Superintendent of
the South Jefferson Central School District

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jamie A.
Moesel upon the occasion of her retirement after 10 years of distin-
guished service as Superintendent of the South Jefferson Central School
District; and
WHEREAS, Jamie A. Moesel earned her bachelor's degree from the Crane
School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and began her career in the South
Jefferson Central School District in 1992 as an office administrator,
later working in the special education department; she went on to serve
as Superintendent of Special Education at Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, eventu-
ally acting as the district's Assistant Superintendent before being
promoted to Superintendent; and
WHEREAS, The South Jefferson School District, one of the largest in
the area, serves approximately 2,000 students, has approximately 360
employees, and covers 225 square miles; and
WHEREAS, Jamie A. Moesel has come to be known as an exemplary super-
intendent whose life's work has been dedicated to the South Jefferson
community and its children; and
WHEREAS, Jamie A. Moesel's proven leadership, her ability to unite the
South Jefferson Central School District with the community at large, and
her vision for a strong, successful and enduring school district, has
greatly benefitted the students, parents and staff of the South Jeffer-
son Central School District; and
WHEREAS, The knowledge and expertise this hardworking administrator
has brought the South Jefferson Central school community makes her a
clear symbol of success for all of New York's educational leaders; and
WHEREAS, For more than two decades, Jamie A. Moesel has put the
students of the South Jefferson Central School District first, working
tirelessly to help them succeed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jamie A. Moesel upon the occasion of her retirement after more
than 20 years of dedicated service in the field of education; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jamie A. Moesel.
