LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Warwick, New York, upon the occasion of
being named one of the 10 Best Weekend Getaway Options in the United
States by StyleCaster

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor and recog-
nize those exceptional communities which comprise the noble body of this
great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Warwick, New York, upon the occasion of being named one of the 10 Best
Weekend Getaway Options in the United States by StyleCaster; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Warwick, located in the southwestern part of
Orange County, New York, has long been renowned as a wonderful place to
live and visit; and
WHEREAS, In 2014, StyleCaster, a national online social network,
selected Warwick as one of the 10 Best Weekend Getaway Options in the
United States; it was chosen based on its scenic beauty and attractions
as well as its close proximity to New York City; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Warwick possesses many outstanding features,
including a historic downtown and an active historical society dedicated
to preserving the rich heritage of the area; in addition, it has a
unique entrepreneurial spirit that encourages new businesses, while
promoting thoughtful growth with ecology in mind; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed community is also the home of such popular
attractions as the annual Applefest and the Summer Arts Festival;
furthermore, countless tourists are drawn to its many wineries and bed
and breakfasts each year; and
WHEREAS, Remaining fruitful over the ebb and flow of decades of growth
and change, the Town of Warwick continues its commitment to enhancing
the quality of life of its citizens, ensuring a positive business,
institutional and educational climate, and providing all essential
services; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Warwick, New York, upon the occasion of being named one of the 10
Best Weekend Getaway Options in the United States, recognizing the
significance of the role it continues to play in the life of the commu-
nity of the State of New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Town of Warwick.
