LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Lilia Langford upon the occasion of her
retirement after 46 years of distinguished service to Albany Medical
Center

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, It is, furthermore, incumbent upon the people of the State of
New York to recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have
made significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Lilia Langford upon the occasion of her retirement after 46 years of
distinguished service to Albany Medical Center; and
WHEREAS, For the past 46 years, Lilia Langford rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to Albany Medical Center, earning the
admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues and all she served
over the decades; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, and especially in her 25 years of work
with the AIDS Program, Lilia Langford served with loyalty, honor, and
compassion; and
WHEREAS, Lilia Langford truly distinguished herself in the AIDS
Program, beginning her work with AIDS patients at a time when stigma was
often a barrier to services; over the years, this dedicated woman raised
significant funds for AIDS programs, and touched thousands of lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lilia Langford upon the occasion of her retirement after 46 years
of distinguished service to Albany Medical Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lilia Langford.
