LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Robin Marks upon the occasion of her
retirement after 28 years of distinguished service to Jewish Family
Service of Orange County
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Robin Marks upon the occasion of her retirement after 28 years of
distinguished service to Jewish Family Service of Orange County; she
will be celebrated at its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at
Temple Sinai, Middletown, New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 28 years, Robin Marks rendered faithful, consci-
entious and valuable service to Jewish Family Service of Orange County
(JFS), earning the respect, admiration, and esteem of her colleagues and
peers; and
WHEREAS, Committed to serving others, she earned a Bachelor of Science
in Nursing from Catholic University of America, and a Master of Science
in Guidance and Counseling from Lehman University; and
WHEREAS, Robin Marks joined JFS as a volunteer in 1986, providing
information and referrals, helping staff to conduct home visits and
beginning a support group for women; in 1994, this dedicated woman
helped launch the organization's provision of Medicaid Service Coordi-
nation services; and
WHEREAS, Robin Marks has made a positive difference in the lives of
everyone she touched; she has combined her impressive nursing and coun-
seling skills to tremendous effect, assisting individuals with disabili-
ties, and also providing aid to refugees from Russia settling in Orange
County; and
WHEREAS, In her role as Medicaid Service Coordinator, Robin Marks
served with loyalty, honor and distinction, governed by a keen sense of
duty, and always showing a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, Robin Marks also contributes her time and talents to Hospice
of Sullivan and Orange County, serving on its Board of Directors and
volunteering in other capacities; and
WHEREAS, In retirement, Robin Marks will spend time with her family;
married to David Marks, they are the proud parents of three daughters,
and the adoring grandparents of four grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, There can be no doubt that the quality of life of those
served by Jewish Family Service of Orange County has been greatly
enriched by the professionalism, expertise, and commitment of Robin
Marks; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Robin Marks upon the occasion of her retirement after 28 years of
distinguished service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robin Marks.
