LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Sanford Searleman upon the occasion of
his retirement after 20 years of distinguished service to the Crandall
Public Library Board

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 20 years, Sanford Searleman rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Crandall Public Library Board;
he was honored while presiding over his final board meeting on Wednes-
day, December 4, 2013; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as library board president, Sanford Searleman
served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed man has served in numerous roles with the
organization over the years, including secretary, treasurer, vice presi-
dent, and president; he has also been an integral part of multiple
fundraising campaigns; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Sanford Searleman was governed by a
keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems;
and
WHEREAS, During his tenure, Sanford Searleman ably guided the Crandall
Public Library through its expansion, as well as in the implementation
of new technologies; his professionalism and kindness earned him the
admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sanford Searleman upon the occasion of his retirement after 20
years of distinguished service to the Crandall Public Library Board; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sanford Searleman.
